Wini Bettenburg, TBD June 1st (University of Vermont, Mac, or gap semester depending on how COVID-19 plays out)
remember that everything in life is art. How you think, how you talk, how you dress, your smile, your laugh, your personality, your beliefs- the very act of human existence is an art in and of itself. Physical art is just a sensory representation of that masterpiece that resides within each of us. Who cares if it is “bad,” who cares if it is “messy,” who cares if you think it looks absolutely awful- it is an expression of the bit of cosmic energy that resides inside you & that makes it beautiful. Art makes your soul grow, it connects you to the feeling of being human & to all the shared humanity that preceded you. It is the act of creation that matters, not necessarily the result. When you create and act with intention, & you tap into the deeper parts of yourself, whatever you create is art, so do not be afraid to try.
connect to your Earth Mother and love her fiercely. she will care for you like no one else, & you must care for her in return. every little thing counts & you are capable of making a difference. use your voice & speak for the quiet places on our planet whenever you are able. embrace the wilderness within & around you, & be a little feral every now and then.
it is okay for the healing to be messy. you are a masterpiece in your chaos, give yourself permission to be flawed, because by doing so you allow others to do the same. be vulnerable, be not okay sometimes, be real, be human. you are exactly right just as you are.
