VOICE: What was your favorite part of Vis when you were a student here?
MS. KRANZ: My favorite part about Vis was how at home I felt because of the wonderful relationships I made with peers and faculty. The traditions were also amazing. You will never be able to explain to outsiders the importance of a dodgeball game, why you have no “real clothes,” or why you crave a bagel every Friday at 10:10 am.
VOICE: What’s something that will always be in fashion no matter how much time passes?
MS. KRANZ: Whatever makes you feel comfortable and happy is always in style!
VOICE: In the past, people were buried with the items they needed in the afterlife, what would you have buried?
MS. KRANZ: I would want to be buried with some peanut butter M&Ms and a cup of coffee in case I need a little energy to propel me home.
VOICE: Who was your craziest or most interesting teacher at Vis?
MS. KRANZ: Doc Walsh. He taught AP Euro by creating multi-character monologues in which he played the parts of the hero and the villain all in the same breath.
VOICE: What about your work brings you the most joy?
MS. KRANZ: Working at Vis brings together so many of my passions–Salesian Spirituality, working with high school students, teaching, learning, and athletics. Most of all, I love being part of a community that cares deeply for its members. I love getting to know every student and helping her explore her faith and spirituality surrounded and supported by her classmates.
