VOICE: What piece of literature is the most overrated?
MR. MCLAUGHLIN: Moby Dick. The book wasn’t as good as I thought it would be. Everyone thinks it’s great because it’s an interesting topic, but it’s tedious. Also, it’s written completely in iambic pentameter.
VOICE: If someone narrated your life, who would it be?
MR. MCLAUGHLIN: Liev Schreiber because I like his serious, but measured, tone.
VOICE: What word can you not stand?
MR. MCLAUGHLIN: “Nowadays.” The tone of the word seems serious, but it sounds like a bouncy word. Easier to just say “these days.”
VOICE: What habit do you have now that you wish you started much earlier?
MR. MCLAUGHLIN: Reading every day.
