On September 14th, 2021, Apple broadcasted their fall event virtually. The event, being over an hour long, presented five new devices that buyers will have their eyes on.

The first device announced was the iPadOS. Apple’s iPad series varies in size and efficiency, bringing tons of new features to the iPad. Starting at $329, the device starts with 64GB of storage, A13 Bionic chip, and 10.2‑inch Retina display. The A13 Bionic chip allows the device to be more responsive when running larger applications. Generally, as Apple devices age battery life diminishes, but Apple claims that their new iPadOS has all-day battery life.

The next device announced at Apple’s event was the iPad mini in four colors. The iPad mini comes with rounded corners and a large, edge-to-edge screen making the iPad mini even more convenient with its smaller size. Touch ID is integrated into the top of the device, allowing for convenient authorization of the device and easier mobile payments. The Apple pencil (sold separately) now supports the highly popular second-generation Apple Pencil and is even able to magnetically attach itself to the side of the device.

The Apple Watch Series 7, with 33% faster charging speed and a larger display, is a major improvement to past Apple Watch Series’. The Apple Watch Series brings a crack resistant, dust resistant, and a water resistant screen bringing the most durable watch released by Apple. Apple has also integrated more health features such as measuring oxygen level, heart rate, ECG, and sleep patterns. The device starts at $399.

The iPhone 13 and the iPhone 13 mini were also announced at Apple’s event. Apple has claimed to have the longest battery life on these two devices than any other iPhone, and both devices come in five colors: pink, blue, midnight, starlight, and the product red. The iPhone 13 mini is significantly smaller than the iPhone 13, with the iPhone 13 being 6.1” and the iPhone 13 mini 5.4”. The dual cameras are placed adjacently from each other on the back of the phone instead of being placed vertically like the iPhone 11 and 12 series has been. The dual camera placement and other technical updates allow the cameras to capture up to 47% more light than before. The front camera has also been given many updates, with cinematic mode, updates to portrait mode, deep fusion, and many more updates. The iPhone 13 starts at 128GB— perfect for those who are looking for more backup space for images, videos, and applications. Apple has significantly improved the battery life on the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini, with the iPhone 13 having up to 2.5 more battery life and the iPhone 13 mini having 1.5 more battery life.

The last devices announced at Apple’s September event were the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. The Pro starts at $999 with a 6.1” retina display, and the Pro Max with a 6.7” retina display. Both phones come in four colors: sierra blue, silver, gold, and graphite. The Pro camera system makes photography extremely versatile and truly changes the way you photograph. Many photography features are brought to the device with the Pro. Similar to the regular iPhone 13, the battery life has increased by 2.5 hours on the iPhone 13 Pro Max, and 1.5 hours on the iPhone 13 Pro Max.
